Andy Klump is a renewable energy executive with 25 years of solar energy, storage and technology experience, including 22 years of operating in Asia. Most recently, Mr. Klump founded, owned, operated, and exited Clean Energy Associates (CEA) www.cleanenergyassociates.com, a solar energy and energy storage technical advisory firm. He founded CEA in 2008 to serve investors, developers, EPC contractors, utilities and other downstream clients in the areas of supply chain management, quality assurance, independent engineering, and business intelligence. CEA’s team of 250+ professionals including 150+ engineers and inspectors in 15+ countries worked with clients in over 85 countries and completed over 265GW of solar and 65GWh of storage projects, respectively.

Prior to CEA, Mr. Klump served as the Vice President, Business Development for Trina Solar (www.trinasolar.com) where he oversaw the company’s international expansion plans covering upstream polysilicon procurement, downstream project integration and development and all M&A activity. Together with the executive management team, he helped raise nearly $500M in capital during the company’s IPO and follow-on offerings on the New York Stock Exchange from 2006 to 2008. In addition to his duties with Trina Solar, Mr. Klump also served as a Board Member of the US Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

Prior to 2006, Mr. Klump worked in sales, business development and strategic planning roles in China for large companies such as Dell and Intel. Prior to moving to China, Mr. Klump supported both public and private high growth technology companies in business development and marketing roles at iXL Enterprises, Silverpop Systems (Sold to IBM), and Trilogy Software in the US. Mr. Klump serves as a board member of IDefine.org, a non-profit 501c3 supporting life-changing treatments and cures for those with Kleefstra syndrome (KS), a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a loss of function in the EHMT1 gene. Additionally, he serves on the board of other private ventures in both solar, storage and energy efficiency. He resides in Boston with his wife and 4 daughters, including one special needs daughter with KS.
